Poolhall Junkies (2002) follows the story of Johnny (Mars Callahan), a talented pool player who is held back by his manipulative mentor, Joe (Chazz Palminteri). Joe, a cunning hustler, controls Johnny's matches and opponents, preventing him from reaching his full potential. Johnny's break from Joe leads to a violent confrontation, ultimately freeing him from the world of pool-sharking. However, Johnny's newfound freedom comes at a cost. He struggles to adapt to a conventional job in construction and finds himself drawn back into the pool world through his younger brother Danny (Michael Rosenbaum), who is following in his footsteps. Meanwhile, Joe seeks revenge and finds a new protégé, Brad (Rick Schroder), who is just as skilled as Johnny. Brad's involvement leads to a high-stakes game that lands Danny in jail. To save his brother, Johnny must face Brad in a climactic "race to nine" showdown, where the stakes are not just about money but also about the lives of Johnny and Danny.
