The Wisher (2002) unfolds in a quiet town where a teenage girl named Mary is deeply engrossed in and addicted to horror films. Additionally, Mary is a sleepwalker who frequently experiences nightmares, and her father has strictly forbidden her from watching horror movies. However, when the highly anticipated film "The Wisher" hits the local theaters, Mary, along with her two closest friends, Debbie and Kara, decides to attend the screening. Mary exits the theater midway through the film, feeling ill and deeply disturbed by the frightening narrative. Soon, Mary begins to notice that her wishes are manifesting in reality, causing harm to others, and she sees the eerie character from the film, The Wisher, following her everywhere.
