Alien³ (1992) follows the harrowing journey of Ripley, who, despite the valiant efforts of herself and the space marines in the previous film, finds an embryonic alien stowaway on the starship. The creature inadvertently activates the ship's emergency protocols, causing the escape pod to crash-land on a nearby planet. Ripley awakens to a grim reality: she is stranded in a penal colony inhabited by a fanatical religious sect comprised of convicted murderers and rapists. As the alien rapidly evolves into a more lethal form, it begins to systematically eliminate the defenseless prisoners. Ripley's nightmare deepens as she uncovers a chilling truth that makes the danger far more personal and terrifying.
