Virgin Mountain (2015) follows Fúsi, a shy, overweight man in his forties who lives a quiet, routine life with his mother in Reykjavik. Working as a baggage handler, he escapes into his hobbies of war reenactments and model trains. His mundane existence takes a turn when his coworkers gift him dance lessons, where he meets Sjöfn, a woman battling her own demons. As their tentative friendship grows, Fúsi begins to step out of his shell, confronting his fears and loneliness. This poignant Icelandic drama explores themes of isolation, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace change.
