Ditte & Louise (2018) follows the journey of two seasoned actresses and inseparable friends, Ditte and Louise, who have built a career as a comedic duo, touring the nation with their performances. Louise has come to terms with the limitations of the entertainment industry, while Ditte harbors aspirations for greater success. When Ditte adopts a daring disguise as a man named "Ditlev" to secure prominent film roles, she achieves stardom but strains her bond with Louise. Louise, feeling neglected, seeks solace in a romantic relationship that ultimately crumbles due to her emotional turmoil. The friends' paths diverge further when Louise discovers Ditte's intimate involvement with her father. Ditte's charade as Ditlev culminates in a public humiliation, leading to her exclusion from the film industry. Both women find themselves at a crossroads, questioning their dreams and the true value of their friendship.
