Jeans (1998) follows the story of Vishu and Ramu, Indian twins residing in America with their father, Rajamani. When Madhumita (Aishwarya Rai) and her sibling arrive in America to seek medical care for their grandmother, Vishu and Ramu cross paths with them at the airport. Vishu develops feelings for Madhumita, and although they receive blessings from everyone except Rajamani, who is at odds with his own twin brother, the couple faces a unique challenge. Rajamani insists that his sons marry twin sisters, leading Madhumita to feign having a twin, Vaishnavi, to satisfy him. As Madhumita maintains the ruse, complications arise when Ramu falls for Vaishnavi. The truth must surface before Madhumita is forced to marry both of Rajamani's twin sons.
