The Extra Girl (1923) follows the journey of Sue Graham, a young woman from a small town with dreams of becoming a movie star. Her aspirations take a surprising turn when a photograph of a beautiful girl is mistakenly sent to a studio in place of her own. Upon arriving in Hollywood, the mix-up is revealed, and Sue finds herself working in the props department of the studio. Meanwhile, her parents travel to California and make a questionable investment with a dubious character, adding further complications to Sue's pursuit of stardom.
