Simple Moves (2013) is a psychological drama that delves into the life of a young Russian immigrant named Aleksandr Ivanov, portrayed by Pau Masó. Following the tragic loss of his mother, Aleksandr is left alone and heartbroken in the bustling city of New York. In an attempt to cope with his grief, he seeks solace in the working world. However, his life takes a dark turn when he accepts a dancing job at a gay club, which ultimately leads him into the dangerous realm of escorting and prostitution. As Aleksandr becomes entangled in this sordid world, he finds himself spiraling downward, engaging in sexual acts for money and becoming ensnared in a cycle of abuse and drug use. His mental state deteriorates, and his once-hidden darker personality traits begin to surface.
