Winds of September (2008)

Winds of September (2008) is a compelling drama produced by Eric Tsang and Hong Kong-based Big Pictures Limited, serving as the inaugural installment in a trilogy of films from different Asian countries. Each film explores the universal themes of youth, camaraderie, and the inevitable loss of innocence, despite the best of intentions. Directed by Tom Lin Shu-Yu, known for his work on "Parachute Kids," the trilogy is based on his original script. The narrative unfolds over a year in the lives of seven boys navigating the complexities of change and conflict within their group. Set in 1997 in the suburban landscape of Hsinchu, a city south of Taipei, the story coincides with the zenith of the Chinese Professional Baseball League's popularity. The backdrop of a game-fixing scandal within the league reflects the disillusionment and despair experienced by the young protagonists as they grapple with their own personal struggles.
