Going Places (1938)

Going Places (1938) follows the story of Mr. Mason, a dedicated salesman at Detridge & Frome, who is tasked with promoting their range of equestrian apparel. Leveraging the fame of renowned jockey Peter Randall, who is currently in Australia, Mason orchestrates a plan where Peter will pose as the jockey during the Steeple Chase event. At the event, Peter meets Cora, who invites him to a party where he encounters the charming Ellen. Despite their shared interest in horses, Peter continues his deception to win Ellen's affection. However, their plans are complicated by the schemes of two gamblers, Maxie and Duke, who aim to profit from the race by pairing Peter with the unpredictable horse 'Jeepers Creepers'. This wild horse, known for its exceptional jumping and speed, only calms down when Gabriel plays his trumpet, adding an unexpected twist to the unfolding drama.
