Between Summers (1995) follows the heart-wrenching journey of Torun and Mikael, a couple who have been married for several years. Their lives take a tragic turn while on holiday by the Danish coast when their young son, Melker, meets an untimely end due to an accidental drowning. Torun initially directs her blame towards her sister, who was responsible for watching the children. As time passes, her anger and sorrow shift towards her husband. Unable to cope with their overwhelming emotions, the couple begins to drift apart, struggling to find a way to navigate their shared grief.
