Wise Girl (1937) follows the journey of a privileged young woman who embarks on a quest to locate her late sister's children, who are residing in the vibrant and unconventional Greenwich Village with their uncle. Upon discovering their carefree and artistic lifestyle, she finds herself drawn to the liberating atmosphere, which starkly contrasts with her own structured and opulent existence. However, despite her newfound appreciation for their Bohemian way of life, she proceeds with legal action against her uncle, aiming to gain custody of the children and allow him to pursue his passion for painting.
