Lac Mystère (2013) follows the story of a man who goes by the name Fred Moreau after being deceived by his own family. Fred flees with a briefcase stuffed with ill-gotten cash and seeks refuge in a secluded cottage by the shores of Lake Kaionwahere, accompanied by his loyal canine companion, Jules. Initially, Fred hopes to lay low and avoid detection. However, his solitude is disrupted when he encounters a enigmatic fisherman who lives nearby and a dancer who is evading someone, while a smitten policeman is on the hunt for her. As a fugitive is spotted in the vicinity and a peculiar drowning incident is discovered, Fred starts to unravel the enigmatic secrets that shroud the lake.
