The Homely Girl (1935) follows the story of Éva, a beautiful woman portrayed by Lili Muráti, who is falsely blamed by attorney Halmi, played by Pál Jávor, for causing a marital split. Seeking revenge, Éva transforms herself into an unassuming figure and secures a position as Halmi's secretary. Her plan is to ensnare Halmi's affections and then orchestrate a compromising scenario. However, Éva's scheme backfires when she genuinely falls in love with Halmi. This classic film was loosely remade by Marion Davies in "Ever Since Eve" in 1937.
