Pandemic (2009) follows ER physician Tsuyoshi Matsuoka as he encounters a patient exhibiting bizarre symptoms, including extreme fever, seizures, bloody vomiting, and organ failure. The cause is unclear—could it be a new strain of influenza or an entirely different virus? As more cases flood in, the World Health Organization sends medical officer Eiko Kobayashi to assess the situation. The virus's rapid spread threatens to paralyze the city's transportation and infrastructure within three months, with the potential to infect tens of millions and cause a death toll surpassing any war within six months.
