Looking for Eric

Eric a football fanatic postman whose life is descending in to crisis receives some life coaching from the famously philosophical Eric Cantona. Eric Bishop is a Manchester postman who is going through a bad patch. His wife has left him, his two stepsons have gotten out of hand and his house is in a state of chaos: in fact it was already so even before a concrete mixer turned up in the front yard. His daughter blames him for not living up to her expectations and his own sentimental life is a wasteland. In spite of his work colleagues’ good crack and their attempts to bring a smile back to his face, Eric keeps losing his bearings... One night he addresses his idol, who seems to regard him with malicious eyes from the poster on his bedroom wall, while wondering what the best player in Manchester United would do if he was in his shoes. Eric becomes convinced that this other Eric —soccer player Eric Cantona— will help him regain control of his life.
