Pinocchio (Faerie Tale Theatre Series) (TV)
1984 · Movie · 52 min. · United States
He might be made out of wood, but Pinocchio (Pee Wee's Playhouse's Paul Reubens) proves that puppets have hearts of gold in this retelling of the well-loved tale Pinocchio. A lonely puppet maker named Geppetto (Ocean's Eleven's/The Jerk's Carl Reiner) wakes up to find that his wish for a son has been granted-he just happens to be a semi-human marionette. Pinocchio will ultimately turn into a real live boy, granted he tells the truth-if he lies, his nose will grow. Pinnochio comes up against many temptations-every time his nose telling him whether he's doing the right thing. After an evil Gypsy (Monsters Inc.'s James Coburn) turns him into a Donkey Boy, he discovers that Geppetto's been swallowed by a whale. Can he brave the sea to save him?
