Ghostbusters 2 (1989) follows the Ghostbusters team five years after their initial adventures, now facing financial ruin due to legal battles and a tarnished reputation. When Dana Barret encounters ghostly disturbances once more, the team reunites, only to be swiftly apprehended by authorities. They soon uncover a sinister plot involving a subterranean river of ectoplasmic goo and an ancient sorcerer aiming to inhabit Dana's child.
