The Vanished Murderer (2015) is set in a women's prison in Northern China during 1932, where inmate FU Yuan (JIANG Yiyan) meticulously excavates a tunnel from her cell using a silver spoon and successfully escapes. Inspector SONG Donglu (LAU Ching-wan) is called in to probe FU's escape. As he follows the trail of letters sent to him by FU, SONG is led to Hong City, where he delves deeper into the mystery surrounding FU's vanishing.
