Initiation (1987) follows the story of a young teenager named Danny who, after the loss of his mother, travels to a remote farm in Australia to stay with his father, Matt Malloy. Matt, along with his girlfriend and her daughter Stevie, resides on the struggling farm. To make ends meet, Matt turns to illegal activities, specifically smuggling marijuana for a drug dealer. When Danny accompanies his father on one of these perilous flights, their small plane crashes in an isolated wilderness. With his father injured, Danny must navigate the treacherous jungle alone to find help and ensure their survival.
