El manantial (TV Series) (2001) is set in the picturesque village of San Andres, where a long-standing feud between the Valdes and Ramirez families revolves around "El Manantial," a stunning water fountain that graces the modest property of the Valdes. This natural wonder does not extend to the neighboring estate, the affluent and thriving ranch "Piedras Grandes," owned by the Ramirez family, renowned for their superior cattle. However, the true source of animosity between the families runs deeper than the spring. Justo Ramirez, married to Margarita Insunza, had an affair with Francisca Rivero, the wife of his adversary and neighbor, Rigoberto Valdes. This infidelity fuels intense bitterness and ultimately leads to the downfall of both families. The Valdes have a lovely daughter named Alfonsina, born in the same year as Alejandro, the son and heir of the Ramirez. Despite their shared age, they grow up with deep-seated prejudices against each other's families.
