RoboCop 2 (1990) sees the return of Peter Weller as the iconic cyborg law enforcer, RoboCop, who continues to protect the streets of Detroit. The corporation Omni Consumer Products has plans to introduce a new, supposedly superior model, RoboCop 2, designed by Juliette Faxx (Belinda Bauer). This new model is intended to incorporate the biological remains of a criminal rather than a police officer. Meanwhile, a highly addictive drug known as Nuke is flooding the city, distributed by a ruthless kingpin named Cain (Tom Noonan). RoboCop's confrontation with Cain leads to his capture and subsequent reprogramming with socially conscious commands, which significantly hinder his effectiveness as a law enforcer. After rewiring himself with an electrical overload, RoboCop manages to arrest Cain, who is severely injured in the process. Faxx then secretly integrates Cain's brain into RoboCop 2, transforming the new model into a dangerous and lawless killing machine. This sets the stage for a dramatic and violent clash between the original RoboCop and his more advanced, but morally corrupted successor.
