Kung Phooey! (2003) follows the journey of a martial arts prodigy from China's enigmatic Shur-Li Temple who sets out on a comedic adventure in this parody of classic kung-fu cinema, directed by Darryl Fong. The protagonist, Art Chew (Michael Chow Man-Kin), is dispatched to the United States by his mentor to locate a legendary peach that is said to possess the secret to everlasting life. Alongside his cousin, loyal friend Roy Lee (Colman Domingo), and the charming Sue Shee (Karena Davis), Art navigates the challenges of America while attempting to evade the malevolent Helen Hu (Joyce Brew) and her minions. The group must use their wit and fighting skills to fulfill their quest and secure the eternal admiration of their wise, bald mentors.
