Alive (2004) follows Alex Meyer, a once-renowned musical director who has lost his creative spark after his separation from his wife, Elisa. His producer is hesitant to support his new project due to his prolonged absence from the industry. Undeterred, Alex embarks on an ambitious journey to produce a new musical with virtually no budget. He crosses paths with Matthieu, a gifted but insecure young composer, and together they assemble a cast of mostly inexperienced performers. As the group works tirelessly to bring their vision to life, they must navigate numerous challenges and obstacles. The narrative explores whether the collective energy and camaraderie of the troupe can overcome these hurdles and bring their dream show to fruition, while also delving into Alex's quest to reconnect with his estranged wife.
