In 1994, Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet made Lothringen!, adapted from Maurice Barrès’s novel “Colette Bodauche”. In 2010, Jean-Marie Straub travels to Alsace to complete the second film of the Barrès series, this time based on “Au service de l’Allemagne”, written in 1905, about Mont Saint Odile. Like Joseph, the protagonist, Jean-Marie Straub wanders around Mont Saint Odile, following the path of a young country doctor.
