Saint Philip Neri (TV Miniseries)

TV Miniseries (2010). 2 Episodes. "Be good, if you can" was the proverbial motto of St. Philip Neri. The saint of joy, the minstrel of God, the second apostle of Rome, "Pippo the Good", was born in Florence in 1515 and lived more than 60 years in Rome. While the Council of Trent was taking place, which brought about the Counter-Reformation, St. Philip formed young people with tenderness and irony, bringing them closer to the liturgy and making them have fun singing and playing in a place that would later become the Oratory, a congregation recognized by Pope Gregory XIII (1575). St. Philip Neri was a friend of St. Ignatius of Loyola and Cardinal Charles Borromeo. When the Pope wanted to name him cardinal, he answered without delay: "I prefer Paradise". He was proclaimed a saint in 1622.
