The Copper (1958) follows Otto Friedrich Dennert, a seasoned officer from the Essen police department, notorious for his unique investigative tactics and dubbed "The Grabber." As he nears retirement, Dennert is immersed in a complex case involving the murders of several women. Upon reaching retirement age, the investigation is handed over to a new team, which includes his son, Harry. Persuaded that the wrong individual has been apprehended, Dennert takes matters into his own hands, delving into the case independently with the help of the criminal underworld.
