Surviving (TV) (1985) follows the tumultuous journey of Rick, a 17-year-old golden boy pressured by his father to follow in his footsteps and become a doctor. Meanwhile, Lonnie, a 16-year-old girl recently released from a sanatorium after a suicide attempt, enters Rick's life. The two families are close friends, and Lonnie and Rick quickly fall deeply in love. However, Rick's world is shaken when he discovers his father's infidelity, leading to his erratic behavior at home. Misinterpreting the cause, Rick's father prohibits their relationship, believing Lonnie is the root of Rick's issues. As the summer unfolds, the wealthy and privileged teens grapple with the harsh realities of their dysfunctional families. The intense pressure from their parents and the emotional turmoil of their forbidden love drive them to a tragic conclusion.
