Thirteen Chimes

Synopsis of Thirteen Chimes

Jacobo is a young sculptor whose fifteen-year absence from home has been tinged by the tragic death of his father. Now he is returning to his hometown, Santiago de Compostela, due to his mother's fragile mental condition. Jacobo has inherited his father's talent as a sculptor and moreover he feels compelled to complete his father's unfinished work. While he tries to maintain his sentimental involvement with his childhood friend María, the young man is haunted by the oppressive apparitions of his tyrannical father. Eventually this will lead to his unveiling a number of secrets from the past-- at the cost, however, of going through an existential and creative nightmare.
