Beat (2004) follows the journey of Peter, a 26-year-old urban professional who appears to have it all. Employed at a marketing firm, his career is thriving, and he enjoys the company of friends and a girlfriend. However, his world begins to unravel when a few projects hit snags. His supervisor sends him home and recommends a visit to the company doctor, suggesting that rest and a healthier lifestyle will improve his condition. Unbeknownst to Peter, his situation deteriorates further. After a month of recuperation, he attempts to return to work, only to find that his first day back is fraught with complications. In a surreal turn of events, he stands up and exits a meeting in a zombie-like state, leaving his colleagues bewildered.
