Alcastrer, Lleida, Spain. A town in the drylands just short of a hundred souls. Joan is a gruff old man who bears the harshness of country life. His son Pepe has come back to town with his mother’s death, after having tried to make a life for himself in Barcelona. One day after working the fields, Joan sees someone has broken the padlock in the shed. That night, he decides to join the patrol that scours the lands to prevent more thefts. His son will accompany him. And as they are patrolling, Joan and Pepe come upon a petty thief…
