Ana is seven years old and Mateo four; their mother, a single woman, does everything she can in order to raise them as best as possible. But one night at work, she has no choice but to leave them home alone after trying in vain to get their father to take care of them. On their own, Ana and Mateo explore their daily universe in a strange and new way, in a place where father figures, despite their absence, constitute an oppressive presence.
