Drama set in the Twente textile industry in the 1960s. The young worker Johanna wants to face the social conditions of the time. Her struggle coincides with the economic reconstruction and the arrival of the first workers from Italy. Rising tensions between the citizens of Twente and the newly arrived Italians lead to riots in 1961. Together with her new lover Francesco, Johanna finds herself in the eye of the storm.
