Devoted to You (1986) follows the intertwined lives of two contrasting teenagers, Jane and May. Jane, hailing from a humble background and overlooked by her parents, transforms into a defiant young woman. She gains admission to a prestigious high school through her aunt's connections. May, on the other hand, is a privileged girl from a wealthy family, known for her whimsical behavior. Initially, Jane is ostracized by her peers, but her fortunes change when she saves May from a predicament. This act of bravery earns her May's admiration and respect, leading to an unlikely friendship. May's life takes a romantic turn when she encounters Jacky, a holidaying friend from Canada. Despite knowing he has a girlfriend back home, May finds herself deeply in love with him. On Jacky's final night in Hong Kong, they share a romantic evening. Meanwhile, Jane finds love with Michael, a member of a motorcycle gang. Their relationship blossoms quickly, but tragedy strikes when Michael is fatally shot by gangsters, leaving Jane devastated.
