The Language of Silence

A suitcase full of photos, diaries and a tape with Finnish tango sets Swedish filmmaker, Frans Huhta, off on an odyssey to get to know his mother who took her life when he was 10 years old. During the journey a complex web of contradictory images tones up, and Frans is confronted with his own fear of inheriting the darkness that his mother was carrying. The Language of Silence is a heartfelt documentary exploring consequences of suicide, told by one of those left behind.
