Margarida is madly in love with the Viscount of Aveleda, a wealthy and mysterious nobleman. This passion triggers a lot of envy amidst the high aristocracy of the 20th century. The viscount is in love with Margarida but hides a terrible secret - that will not prevent them from marrying. In the wedding night the viscount reveals his true nature to Margarida.
