Teeth (2000) follows the peculiar and darkly humorous journey of Antonio (Sergio Rubini), a man burdened with extraordinarily large incisors. His unusually sized teeth isolate him from his peers during childhood, leading to multiple attempts to remove them. Antonio's emotional turmoil deepens when his mother (Anouk Grinberg) passes away at the age of 12, leaving him with a fragile psyche and controlling tendencies in his romantic relationships. Antonio becomes fixated on the idea that his girlfriend Mara (Anita Caprioli) has been unfaithful, suspecting her dentist (Tom Novembre) as the culprit. In a heated confrontation, Mara strikes Antonio with an ashtray, breaking off one of his teeth. Antonio embarks on a quest across the country, visiting various dentists in search of a crown that can accommodate his oversized smile. The film was showcased in competition at the 2000 Venice Film Festival.
