Beautiful corpse (2010) follows Marcos, a man in his 30s who busks in Mexico City's main square, feigning a disability to earn money. He spends his evenings at his friend Álvaro's place, gambling his earnings. At home, he finds his wife Clarissa engrossed in soap operas, while his father, Don Antonio, a former renowned violinist, resides in another room, afflicted with advanced Parkinson's disease. Marcos relies on his father's pension, using his fingerprints to collect it. One day, Don Antonio receives an unusual call and succumbs to a heart attack. Clarissa informs Marcos, who is devastated but realizes they need the pension to survive. Marcos decides not to report his father's death immediately. Álvaro suggests a macabre solution: preserving Don Antonio's hand in formaldehyde to continue collecting the pension. Despite initial reluctance, Marcos agrees, driven by the prospect of avoiding a grueling work schedule. The film is a dark comedy that delves into human desperation and moral decay.
