A Kind of Hush (1999) follows the story of six teenagers who share a dark past of child abuse. United by their traumatic experiences, they form a tight-knit group that eventually devises a plan to seek retribution against those who harmed them. The group is led by Harley Smith, who stands out as the only member with a semblance of a normal life. He resides at a hotel, working as an apprentice and forming a bond with the managers, Roy Hudd and Jeanie Drynan, who act as surrogate parents to him. However, as the other members of the group begin to carry out their vengeful acts, Smith finds himself inexorably drawn into the escalating conflict.
