Going South (2009) follows the story of 27-year-old Sam, who embarks on a journey to the south of France in his Ford during the summer. Along the way, he encounters Matthieu and his sister Léa, inviting them to join his seemingly directionless voyage. Matthieu develops feelings for Sam and attempts to woo him, while Léa, a captivating and provocative young woman, brings along Jérémie after becoming pregnant. As the trip unfolds, the group forms bonds, engages in conflicts, and ultimately grows closer. Despite blossoming feelings for Matthieu, Sam remains distant due to a hidden agenda: he is traveling to Spain in search of his estranged mother.
