Two disparate teenage girls from two broken homes develop an intense bond over their mutually dysfunctional backgrounds, and wage a desperate battle to save their friendship following a devastating act of betrayal. Misunderstood 15-year-old Ari feels completely alone in the world. Meanwhile, in the wake of her father's suicide, black-clad Oona resorts to cutting and grotesque art as means of expressing her pent-up grief. On the surface Ani and Oona couldn't be more different. A closer look, however, reveals just how much they have in common.
