The Girl from Jones Beach (1949) follows the story of renowned glamour artist Bob Randolph, celebrated for his iconic paintings of a breathtaking beauty known as "The Randolph Girl." The public is unaware that this pin-up sensation is actually a composite of features from 12 different models. In a quest to find a single woman who embodies all the desired physical attributes, Randolph and his public relations manager, Chuck Donovan, set their sights on Ruth Wilson, a beautiful schoolteacher who values her intellect over her physical allure. Ruth's perspective shifts dramatically when a published photograph of her in a swimsuit leads to her dismissal by the conservative school board. Determined to clear her name, Ruth initiates a lawsuit for reinstatement and, in the process, discovers the significance of swimsuits and sex appeal in her life.
