Bobby (1973) centers around the affluent life of Mr. Nath, his wife Sushma, and their young son Raj in India. The couple's hectic schedules leave little time for Raj, who is primarily cared for by their maidservant, Mrs. Braganza, whom Raj considers his mother. Recognizing Raj's exceptional intelligence, Mr. Nath sends him to a distant boarding school. Upon Raj's return at 18, he discovers that Mrs. Braganza has been dismissed by Sushma. At his birthday celebration, Raj encounters the flirtatious Nima and is instantly smitten with Bobby, Mrs. Braganza's 16-year-old granddaughter. Their mutual affection blossoms, much to the dismay of Raj's parents, who initially meet with Bobby's father, Jack, and Mrs. Braganza, but treat them with disrespect. Undeterred, Raj and Bobby continue their relationship, leading to further complications and tension within the family.
