Du Guesclin (1949) follows the life of Bertrand du Guesclin, a man born into a humble family of Breton nobles, who quickly stands out due to his exceptional vigor. After his youthful years, Bertrand emerges as a formidable military leader. In Brittany, he battles against the English, only to be captured during the Battle of Auray. The women of France rally to raise his ransom. Upon his release, he travels to Spain, where he triumphs over the forces of the King of Navarre. Elevated to the position of Constable of France, he relentlessly fights to expel the English from French soil. His final moments come after a victorious battle near Châteauneuf-de-Randon.
