Juanito (1959) unfolds during a tumultuous revolution, where an indigenous man attempts to rescue the son of President Meza, but tragically perishes in the process. The young boy, Johnny, is subsequently taken in by Hein, a German hunter, who is unaware of the boy's true identity. Hein brings Johnny to the wilderness, where they live together. One fateful day, two girls visit their camp and encounter the boy. Upon returning to her farm, one of the girls recognizes Juanito from a poster distributed by the rebels, who are using the boy to pressure President Meza into meeting their demands.
