Horas de luz (2004) follows the story of Juan José Garfia (Alberto San Juan), a man sentenced to over a century in prison for a tragic event in 1987, and Marimar (Emma Suárez), a nurse working in the same prison. Their paths cross in 1991, and despite the challenges posed by their vastly different worlds, they embark on a profound love story. Marimar's influence helps Garfia learn to express remorse, a crucial step in his personal journey. However, the weight of his past actions and the societal stigma he faces create significant obstacles. The narrative explores whether redemption and hope can emerge from the darkest of circumstances, as Garfia and Marimar navigate their complex relationship amidst the harsh realities of prison life.
