Seventeen Ninja (1990) presents a reimagined version of a timeless tale, introducing Chiba Shinichi and Natsuyagi Isao amidst a web of political scheming. Tadanaga, the younger son of Shogun Hidetada, has forged a perilous alliance aimed at thwarting his elder brother Iemitsu's ascension to the shogunate. Set during the early days of the Tokugawa shogunate, elite ninja groups execute covert operations. The mission to infiltrate the enemy's fortress and retrieve the pact from Negoro leader Saiga Magokuro falls to Iga Jigoza and his team of 17 ninja.
