Bogus (1995) follows the story of Albert Franklin (Haley Joel Osment), a young boy who has inherited his stage magician mother's knack for magic tricks. After his mother's passing, Albert is sent to reside with his aunt Harriet (Whoopi Goldberg). Albert's perception of reality is somewhat blurred, as he struggles to differentiate between stage magic and genuine supernatural occurrences. This unique perspective proves beneficial when a spirit named "Bogus" (Gerard Depardieu) materializes to assist Albert in navigating his new life. Aunt Harriet, engrossed in managing her struggling restaurant supply business, initially overlooks Albert's emotional needs. However, her worldview shifts dramatically when she too encounters the enigmatic spirit.
