Girl Crazy (1943) follows the escapades of wealthy young Danny Churchill (Mickey Rooney), a man with a penchant for the finer things in life, including wine, women, and music, but not academia. His father, in an attempt to steer him towards a more scholarly path, sends him to a remote, all-male college in the West. However, Danny's journey takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a pair of legs protruding from beneath a broken-down car. These legs belong to Ginger Gray (Judy Garland), the Dean's granddaughter, who is more focused on saving the financially troubled college than on Danny's romantic advances. At least, that's how it starts.
