The Betsy (1978) follows the story of a family-owned corporation's patriarch who brings on board a young and talented race car driver to develop a fuel-efficient vehicle in utmost secrecy. The project encounters significant opposition from the company's president, who happens to be the patriarch's grandson. The grandson seeks to dismantle the motor car division due to a long-standing feud with his grandfather. Through a series of flashbacks, the narrative unveils a series of historical issues within the family that continue to impact the present. As the race car driver becomes more involved, he finds himself entangled in a complex web of deceit and corporate intrigue.
